Welcome To ScotDance Ontario

ScotDance Ontario is the Professional Body representing all matters dealing with Highland Dancing in the Province of Ontario and operates under the umbrella of the national body of ScotDance Canada, which is an Affiliated Member of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing, (SOBHD), the world-wide governing body of highland dancing, located in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The aim of ScotDance Ontario is to promote and encourage Scottish Highland Dancing and culture in the Province of Ontario and beyond and to provide a "community" system for its teachers and judges of Highland dancing. ScotDance Ontario participates in the organization of the ScotDance Canada Championship Series held annually, and in particular, the Inter-Provincial Championships.

ScotDance Ontario also supports on-going education for teachers and judges, provides the communications link in the Scottish dancing community, and acts as the resource centre in the Province of Ontario for all aspects of Highland dancing. ScotDance Ontario offers guidance to teachers, dancers, and competition organizers throughout the province, and encourages
representation from all areas of Ontario. To do this, it aims to keep all of its members informed and involved, which is the purpose of this website.

This non-profit organization is supported by membership fees and tax-deductible gifts of generous individuals and organizations. Donations and scholarships are gladly accepted.
